Facilitation means leading group processes and enhancing good collaboration. According to Chris Corrigan, ”good facilitators help create a container for people to work with difference and diversity to make good things happen”. At best, facilitation transforms the communication of the group in such a way as to create a leap in its capability to renew and make progress.

Visual, action-based and improvisational methods draw upon the participants’ experiential knowledge and active participation for clarifying the big picture, stimulating an authentic dialogue and for helping the group develop its capability for collaboration and for achieving its goals. 

  • What? Small-scale, easy and interesting work methods that are integrated to the issue or goal of the group. Therefore, they are not random games but interesting explorative exercises that enthuse and inspire.
  • Why? In order for the employees to be creative and productive, the goals of high productivity and efficiency need to be complemented with the goals of creativity and learning. Visual and other action methods allow for the intrinsic interests and authenticity of the participants to come alive and brings out their tacit, experiential knowledge. This results in fresh, true dialogue in which different angles can be integrated into a fresh understanding. At the same time, the communication of the group is enriched by mutual interest, acceptance and enthusiasm which enhances spontaneity in daily work. 
  • How? Explorative exercises are made approachable by alternating them with short introductions and individual and pair work. This way, people get used to them easily and naturally step outside of their comfort zone one step at a time. The varied work methods keep up the group’s energy level and bring enthusiasm and efficiency to the work.
